R DESCRIPTION
The MP2303A is a monolithic synchronous
buck regulator. The device integrates a 150m
O high-side MOSFET and a 80mlow-side
F MOSFET that provide 3A continuous load
current over a wide operating input voltage of
4.7V to 28V. Current mode control provides fast
D transient response and cycle-by-cycle current
limit.
E An adjustable soft-start prevents inrush current
at turn-on. In shutdown mode, the supply
D current drops to lower than 1μA.
N S 8 This device, available in an 8-pin SOIC and
PDIP-8 packages, provides a very compact
E N 3 system solution with minimal reliance on
MM SIG P23 external components.

1) Exceeding these ratings may damage the device.
2) The maximum allowable power dissipation is a function of the
maximum junction temperature TJ (MAX), the junction-to-
ambient thermal resistance θJA, and the ambient temperature
TA. The maximum allowable continuous power dissipation at
any ambient temperature is calculated by PD (MAX) = (TJ
(MAX)-TA)/θJA. Exceeding the maximum allowable power
dissipation will cause excessive die temperature, and the
regulator will go into thermal shutdown. Internal thermal
shutdown circuitry protects the device from permanent
damage.
3) The device is not guaranteed to function outside of its
operating conditions.
