The COM1671 (ASTRO) is a MOS/LSI device which performs the functions of interfacing a serial data communication channel to a parallel digital system.
The device is capable of full duplex communications (receiving and transmitting) with synchronous or asynchronous systems.
The ASTRO is designed to operate on a multiplexed bus with other bus-oriented devices.
