It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the CMOS low power dissipation. It has a four modes (HOLD, SHIFT LEFT, SHIFT RIGHT and LOAD DATA) controlled by the two selection inputs (S0, S1).
