The Western Digital PR1472 (PSAR) is a program· mabie receiver that interfaces variable length serial data to a parallel data channel.
The receiver con· verts a serial data stream into parallel characters with a format compatible with all standard Synchronous, Asynchronous, or Isochronous data communications media.
Contiguous synchronous serial characters are compared to a programmable Match-Character Holding Register, character synchronized and assembled.
