3 DESCRIPTIONS
The RS541 is an 8-bit non-inverting buffer/line driver with
3-state outputs. The device features two output enables (O̅̅̅E̅1 and O̅̅̅E̅2). A High on O̅̅̅E̅ causes the associated outputs to assume a high-impedance OFF-state.
Inputs include clamp diodes that enable the use of current limiting resistors to interface inputs to voltages in excess of VCC.
To ensure the high-impedance state during power up or power down, O̅̅̅E̅ should be tied to VCC through a pullup resistor, the minimum value of the resistor is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver.
