Description

The L4940 series of three-terminal positive regulators is available in TO-220 and D²PAK packages and with several fixed output voltages, making it useful in a wide range of industrial and consumer applications.

Precise 5, 8.5, 12 V outputs.
Low dropout voltage (450 mV typ. at 1 A).
Very low quiescent current.
Thermal shutdown.
Short-circuit protection.
Reverse polarity protection.
