The HSDL-1001 contains a high speed, high efficiency TS Al Ga As 875 nm LED, a silicon PIN photodiode and a bipolar, silicon integrated circuit. The IC contains an LED driver, amplifiers and a quantizer. The shutdown function permits operating the receiver in a low current mode to minimize battery drain.
