Agilent ADNS-2051 Optical Mouse Sensor Data Sheet Description The ADNS-2051 is a low cost optical sensor used to implement a non-mechanical tracking engine for computer mice. It is based on optical navigation technology, which measures changes in position by optically acquiring sequential surface images (frames) and mathematically determining the direction and magnitude of movement. The sensor is housed in a 16-pin staggered dual inline package (DIP) that is designed for use with the HDNS-2100 Lens and HDNS-2200 Clip and HLMP-ED80-XXXXX (639 nm LED illuminator source). There are no moving parts, and precision optical alignment is not required, facilitating high volume assembly. The output format is two channel quadrature (X and Y direction) which emulates encoder phototransistors.
