DESCRIPTION
AK4584 is a high-performance 24-bit CODEC for 96k Hz consumer audio and digital recording applications. The on-board analog-to-digital converter has an impressive dynamic range, thanks in part to AKM’s Enhanced Dual-Bit architecture. The DAC features the newly developed Advanced Multi-Bit architecture and achieves low out-of-band noise and high jitter tolerance through the use of Switched Capacitor Filter (SCF) technology. The AK4584 also has a S/PDIF-AES/EBU digital audio transmitter (DIT) and a digital audio receiver (DIR) that are patible with 24-bit, 192k Hz formats. The AK4584 can automatically detect NON-PCM bit streams like AC-3, MPEG and DTS. Either the ADC or the digital audio input can be routed directly to the digital audio output. The AK4584 has an input Programmable Gain Amplifier and is well suited for puter DAWs, Mini Disc, DVD-R, hard disk and CD-R recording/playback systems.
