Description IG O I G O The LM78MXXJ3 series of three-terminal positive regulators are available in the TO-252 package and with5V, 6V, 8V, 9V, 12V, 15V, 18V and 24V fixed output voltages, making them useful in a wide range of applications. These regulators can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. Each type employs internal current-limiting ,thermal shut-down and safe operating area protection, making them essentially indestructible. If adequate heat sinking is provided, they can deliver over 500m A output current. Although designed primarily as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be used with external ponents to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
