Additional ±12-volt supplies are not needed since the DS232A uses on-board charge pumps to convert the +5-volt supply to ±10 volts. The DS232A is fully pliant with EIA RS-232E and V0.28/V0.24 standards. The DS232A contains two drivers and two receivers.
