General Description
Figure 3 provides the block diagram for the LSISAS1068 controller.
The following subsections discuss the block diagram.
There is a single Host Interface module and 2 Quad Port modules.
Key Features
- a performance based message passing protocol that offloads the host CPU by completely managing all I/Os and minimizes system bus overhead by coalescing interrupts. The Fusion-MPT architecture requires only thin, easy to develop device drivers that are independent of the I/O bus. LSI Logic provides these device drivers. To meet its flexibility and data transfer requirements, the LSISAS1068 uses an ARM966 processor that operates at 225 MHz. LSI Logic manufactures the LSISAS1068 controller using Gflx™.
