General Description

The MP2642 is a highly integrated, bidirectional active balancer that provides up to 1A of charge redistribution among Li-ion, Li-polymer, or lithium iron phosphate batteries in a two-series battery pack.

As an alternative to dissipating energy with passive balancing, the MP2642 efficiently moves charge between cells to minimize balancing time and heat generation.

The device can also compensate for cell capacity mismatch to extend battery runtime.

  • Buck-Balance Mode: o Net Transfer Current to Lower Cell (CL) o Configurable between 0.5A and 1A.
