It uses a one-time-programmable (OTP) ROM or EPROM instead of the mask ROM of the µPD78014. Because the µPD78P014 can be programmed by users, it is ideally suited for applications involving the evaluation of systems in development stages, small-scale production of many different products, and rapid development and timeto-market of a new product.
