TDA5140A Description

APPLICATIONS VCR Laser beam printer Fax machine Blower Automotive. TDA5140A The TDA5140A is a bipolar integrated circuit used to drive 3-phase brushless DC motors in full-wave mode. The device is sensorless (saving of 3 hall-sensors) using the back-EMF sensing technique to sense the rotor position.

TDA5140A Key Features

  • Full-wave mutation (using push/pull drivers at the output stages) without position sensors
  • Built-in start-up circuitry
  • Three push-pull outputs
  • 0.8 A output current (typ.)
  • low saturation voltage
  • built-in current limiter
  • Thermal protection
  • Flyback diodes
  • Tacho output without extra sensor
  • Position pulse stage for phase-locked-loop control
