TrackPoint is the result of years of human factors research and innovation at IBM. The result is a “velocity sensitive” pointing solution more efficient and easier to use than “position sensitive” devices such as the mouse, the trackball, or the touchpad. IBM has licensed Philips Semiconductors to sell microcontrollers with TrackPoint code.
