MSM6588 - ADPCM Solid-State Recorder

General Description

The MSM6588/6588L is a "solid-state recorder" IC developed using the ADPCM method.

By externally connecting a microphone, a speaker, a speaker amplifier and a serial register or other memory device to store ADPCM data, it can record and playback voice data like a tape recorder.

By externally connecting a microphone, a speaker, a speaker amplifier and a serial register or other memory device to store ADPCM data, it can record and playback voice data like a tape recorder. The MSM6588/6588L has a stand-alone mode and a microcontroller interface mode. In standalone mode, record or playback can be selected via a pin and it is possible to control the MSM6588 at a simple drive timing.
