English 1a To operate the appliance, plug the toaster into the mains socket and slide the switch downwards. Please note: The switch will only stay in the down position if the appliance is connected to the mains! Important
● Attention: The toaster gets hot during use. Avoid touching the metal parts.
● If a slice of bread becomes trapped inside the toaster: - remove the plug from the mains socket; - then remove the trapped slice carefully from the toaster. Take care not to damage the heating elements whilst removing the bread. Never use a metal object for this purpose.
● Bread may burn. Therefore, toasters must not be used near or below curtains or other combustible material. They must be watched.
● Do not place any objects or heat-up buns directly on top of the toaster as this could lead to damage.
● When cleaning the toaster: - First remove the plug from the mains socket. - Never immerse the toaster in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
● If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips or their service representative, as special tools and/or parts are required.
