Description
Power Dsine’s™ PD64012 Power over Ethernet (Po E) Manager chip integrates power, analog and logic functions into a single 64-pin, plastic pack. It is used in Ethernet switches and Midspans to allow next generation network devices to share power and data over the same cable. The device is a twelve-port, mix-signal, high-voltage Power over Ethernet driver. The Po E Manager allows the detection of IEEE 802.3af-2003 pliant terminals, referred to as powered devices or PDs, ensuring safe power feeding and removal over Ethernet ports. With full digital control via a serial munication interface and a minimum of external ponents, the device integrates in multi-port and highly populated Ethernet switches. The PD64012 implements all real time functions according to IEEE 802.3af-2003, including: detection, classification, and port status monitoring; as well as system level activities such as: power management and MIB support, for system management....
