The 8251A is an MaS/LSI device fabricated using SMC's patented COPLAMOS® technology that meets the majority of asynchronous and synchronous data munication requirements by interfacing parallel digital systems to asynchronous and synchronous data munication channels while requiring a minimum of processor overhead.
The 8251A is an enhanced version of the 8251.
