GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The SM6801A is designed for driving LEDs at 100m A. Using linear mode control to regulate LEDs output current, It is able to operate at very wide supply voltage from 5.5V to 45V and withstand transients without the need for additional transient protection circuitry, thus very suitable for single or multiple series LEDs applications. The maximum dropout voltage of 1.5V acmodates extra LEDs, permits lower supply voltage and provides more efficient operation. Besides, The SM6801A also built-in over temperature protection shuts off the LED current when the chip junction temperature rises above 135℃ (typical). Full LED current resumes when the chip junction temperature falls below 75℃.
The SM6801A is offered in both T0-252(D-PAK) and SOT-223 packages. Allowing heat sinking directly to a chassis without the need for electrically insulating spacers.
