It is ideally suited for driving brushed DC motors and stepping motors used in office equipment and amusement applications.

- Excitation mode can be set to 2-phase, 1-2 phase Full torque, 1-2 phase, or W1-2 phase
- CLK-IN input and a parallel input can be selected
- Motor current selectable in four steps
- Output short-circuit protection circuit (selectable from latch-type or auto-reset-type) incorporated
- Unusual condition warning output pins
- No control power supply required
