Overview
- Low cost, single-chip solution for data powered RS-232 modems using twin fiber-optic cables. Includes all analog/digital functions except for power extraction circuitry and RS-232 level shifting.
- Suitable for plastic or glass fiber, RF, infra-red over free air or Aother media.
- Uses low cost LED and PIN combination to transmit and receive 4data. 0* Additional operating mode to support PIN with integrated TIA.
- Asynchronous data rates from DC to 162kbps. 1* Very low power consumption; typically 2 - 3mA, which could be extracted from the RS232 port itself, for > 12 dB link budget.
