DESCRIPTION
The SS8 219 G m ulti-mode LVD/SE SCSI terminator provides a smooth transition between modes of the SCSI Parallel Interface. It automatically senses the bus via DIFFSENS and switches the termination to either single-ended (SE) or low voltage differential (LVD) SCSI, based on which type of devices are connected to the bus. If the SS8219G detects an HVD SCSI device, it switches to a high impedance state. A 16-bit wide SCSI bus requires three SS8219G for termination. Th is m ulti-mode terminator contains all the functions to terminate, auto detect and switch modes for SCSI Parallel Interface (SPI) bus architectures. For SE termination, one regulator and nine precision 110Ω resistors are used. For LVD termination, the SS8219G integrates 18 regulated supplies with nine precision resistor strings.
