Overview: Sitronix ST7580A 160 x 84 Dot Matrix LCD Controller/Driver 1. INTRODUCTION ST7580A is a single-chip LSI for graphic dot-matrix LCD systems. It incorporates LCD controller, LCD drivers and LCD power system. It can be connected directly to a microprocessor which supports 8-bit parallel interface or 4-line serial interface (SPI-4). Display data is stored in the internal Display Data RAM (DDRAM, 160x84 bits). The display data bits in DDRAM are directly related to the pixels on LCD panel. With built-in oscillation circuit and low power consumption power circuits, ST7580A can drive an LCD panel without external clock or power, so that it is possible to make a display system with the fewest components and minimal power consumption. 2.
