Description

Ideally suited for high port density Gigabit Ethernet switches and routers, or multi-port Network Interface Cards (NICs), Vitesse's VSC8224 integrates four low-power, triple speed (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T) Ethernet transceivers with four 1000BASE-X compatible serializer / deserializer (SerDes) in a 19 mm, thermally-enhanced, 260-pin plastic ball grid array (BGA).

Patented, low EMI line driver with integrated line side termination resistors.
Supports RGMII v1.3 (2.5 V and 3.3 V) and v2.0 (1.5 V HSTL).
User-programmable RGMII timing compensation.
