Overview
The ASYNCHRONOUS RECEIVERITRANSMITTER is a general purpose, programmable MOS/LSI device for inlerfacing an asynchronous serial dala channel of a peripheral or terminal with parallel data of a computer or terminal. The transmitter section converts parallel data into a serial word which contains the data along with start/stop bits, and optional parity.
