Introduction
The 28601is a singlei-chimp icrocomputerwith four 8-bit l/O ports,two counter/timerswith associated prescalersa, synchonousserialcommunicationinterfacewith programmablebaud ranges,and sophisticatedinterrupt facilities.The 28601 can access data in three memory spaces:2K bytes of on-chip ROM and 62K bytes of externalprogram memory, 1zl4bytes of on-chip Register,and 62K bytes of externaldata memory.
The 28671 is a 28601with a Basic/DebugInterpreter and Debugmonitor preprogrammedinto the 2K bytesof on-chipROM.This applicationnotediscusses some considerationsin designinga low-complexity board that runs the Basic/DebugInterpreter and Debug monitor with an external4K bytes of RAM and 2K bytes of ROM.
