Description

The INS8259 is a Programmable Interrupt Controller chip contained in a standard 28-pin dual-in-Iine package_ The chip, which is fabricated using N-channel silicon gate technology, functions as a versatile interrupt management device in a microcomputer system.

Performs Priority Control of up to Eight Interrupt Levels.
Can be Expanded to Handle up to 64 Levels Through Cascading.
Four Programmable Operating Modes.
Programmable Interrupt Vectors, Allowing Service Routines to be Located Anywhere in Memory.
Interrupt Request Inputs Can be Individually Masked.
TRI-STATE@ TTL Drive Capability for Bidirectional Data and Control Buses.
Single + 5 Volt Power Supply.
28-Pin Dual-in-Line Pac.
