It is primarily intended to drive inductive loads such as on-off solenoid valves, DC motors, proportional valves, bi-stable valves, relays, etc. The MAX22216 is capable of up to 3.2AFS per half-bridge, whereas the MAX22217 is capable of up to 1AFS per half-bridge.
