MAX42405
Description
The MAX42405/MAX42406 ICs are tiny synchronous buck converters with integrated high-side and low-side switches. The ICs are designed to deliver up to 6A with wide input voltages ranging from 4.5V to 36V. Voltage quality can be monitored by observing the PGOOD signal. The ICs can operate in dropout by running at a very high duty cycle, making it ideal for industrial applications.
The MAX42405/MAX42406 ICs offer programmable output voltage. Frequency is internally fixed at 400k Hz and 1.5MHz, which allows for small external ponents and reduced output ripple. The ICs automatically enter skip mode at light loads with ultralow quiescent current of 20μA at no load. This family of products (including the MAX42408/MAX42410) offers a pin-to-pin patible offering from 5A to 10A in a singlephase configuration, and up to 20A in a dual-phase configuration. These devices are also optimized for dualphase operation with very high current-sharing accuracy.
